Residencies are for musicians who want depth over movement. You are not just visiting the work; you are living inside it for a season or longer. That can mean a shared musicians’ flat in Copenhagen, a cruise contract, a resort base, or a hotel-run programme where the accommodation structure is part of the deal. The upside is stability. The trade-off is that the work shapes your whole life while you are inside it.
